I would be remiss I did not respond to all the residents who have reached out to share condolences and kind words in the light of events in Afghanistan. First, I share my condolences to the families and friends of those servicemen who gave their last in service to our nation and their fellow man today.

Second, thank you for honoring their sacrifice and so many others with your kind words. I cannot find words to sufficiently and adequately express the loss experienced in these events or the gratitude I feel for my friends and neighbors.
